The Coloring Stories for Conscious Children project was an ambitious undertaking that began as a collaboration between author Joel Finsel, myself, and several other artists in 2007. The first incarnation of the stories and illustrations came together into a hand-made, hardcover book in a limited edition of 50. Those books and the original illustrations were debuted at ERA Gallery in Wilmington, North Carolina in September of that year as the Rated G exhibition.
Over the following two years, I continued to work with Joel to create a two volume paperback edition of Coloring Stories for Conscious Children. My contributions include illustrations for one of the six stories in Volume One, as well as cover design and layout for both volumes. After many revisions, Volume One and Two were released in 2009 and continue to be available in the Cape Fear region of North Carolina as well as online.
